WHAT IS SOLUTION-FOCUSED HYPNOTHERAPY?

 

The primary focus of Solution Focused Hypnotherapy (SFH) is on setting clear, achievable goals. Rather than delving deeply into past traumas or problems, I work with clients to define what they want to achieve in the future.

 

Sessions often begin with questions like, "What do you want to achieve?" or "How will you know when things are better?"

 

Hypnosis:

Hypnosis is used to induce a deeply relaxed state in which the subconscious mind is more open to positive suggestions and creative problem-solving.

 

This state allows clients to bypass their critical conscious mind, making it easier to reinforce positive changes and new behaviours.

 

Positive Reinforcement:

I help the client to recognise and build on their strengths and past successes. This positive reinforcement fosters a sense of capability and motivation.

 

Techniques like guided visualisation and positive suggestion are used to encourage a focus on solutions and desired outcomes. I often incorporate CBT and NLP techniques into the practice. 

 

Brief and Time-Limited:

SFH is typically brief and time-limited. The aim is to achieve significant progress in a relatively short number of sessions.

 

The therapy is structured to produce quick, effective results by concentrating on what can be done now to improve the client's situation.

 

Client Collaboration:

SFH is highly collaborative, with the therapist and client working together to identify goals and create a plan to achieve them.
